FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Stratford man was charged with stealing fuel from a Fairfield gas station earlier this year.
Employees at a Citgo station on the Post Road reported the theft on April 22. A man came to the stations pumps, filled up a truck with $87.48 worth of gasoline and drove off without paying, according to the police report.
Witnesses provided a description of the car and the license plate, which were traced to an address in Stratford. Investigators found that Benson Ajissefinni, 25, of Stratford, was driving the truck at the time, according to a police report. He was arrested on a warrant Thursday.
Ajissefinni was charged with sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was released on a promise to appear in court on July 9.
