FAIRFIELD, Conn. ? A Bridgeport man was charged with burglary Wednesday after he was spotted taking items out of a parked car in Fairfield, police said.
Witnesses along Greenfield Street told police they saw a man reach into a parked car before driving away in a blue van. The cars owner reported $200 in cash and a collection of power tools, worth $250, missing from the vehicle.
A neighbor of the victim named Johnny Cox, 50, of Bridgeport, as a suspect, saying Cox was at his home to collect money for a past job, according to the police report. Fairfield Police found Cox in Bridgeport in a car matching the description of the vehicle used in the theft, police said.
Cox was cahrged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was released on a promise to appear in court July 18.
