FAIRFIELD, Conn. – One of the suspects involved in a fight outside the Seagrape Café in Fairfield also faces charges for possessing large amounts of marijuana and steroids, according to police reports.
Police received reports of a fight between two men, possibly involving a weapon, outside the Reef Road bar at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday. Officers found Giancarlo Amado, 21 of Bridgeport and Alex Nankervis, 23, of Trumbull behind the bar involved in a fight, according to police reports.
Because of the report of a weapon, police said they searched the two men’s cars. No weapons were found, but inside Amado’s car officers said they found more than 4 ounces of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and two bags containing more than 300 steroid pills. A records search also found Amado had a warrant for his arrest for failure to pay a ticket to Clinton police, according to police records.
Amado was charged with two counts of illegal distribution of prescription medication and one count each of possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. He also was charged with a possession of drug paraphernalia and breach of the peace relating to the fight, both misdemeanors. He was released after posting a $5,500 bond and is due in court Sept. 24.
Nankervis was charged with a breach of the peace for his alleged role in the altercation. He was released on a promise to appear in court and is due to face charges Sept. 25.
