Man With 41 Prior Arrests Nabbed In Fairfield, Police Say

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man with 41 prior arrests was arrested Sept. 16 after Fairfield police said he was caught on surveillance video stealing two bikes and a weed whacker from a Moody Avenue garage.

Jorge Ramirez, 54, of Summit Street, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny in the April 28 incident, police said.

Police said he was caught on video removing a pane of glass from the detached residential garage and stealing a $500 men’s mountain bike, a $200 girl’s bike and a $200 weed whacker sometime between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m.

The items were pawned, but police were able to recover the weed whacker and the men’s bike.

Ramirez has 41 prior arrests stemming from burglary, larceny, robbery and narcotics charges, police said. He was held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 16, police said.
