FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Newtown man was charged with third-degree assault after his girlfriend reported that he grabbed her on the wrist and pulled out a clump of her hair just before 2 a.m. Monday in an attack in a Bungalow Avenue home, police said.
George Zachos, 32, of Glen Road, was also charged with disorderly conduct, police said. He has a history of arrests, including assault, in Connecticut, Maine and Virginia, police said.
He was held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court April 18, police said.
