FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield police were called Thursday morning to the Home Depot on Kings Highway Cutoff after a bomb threat was found in the bathroom of the store.

Police report that a note had been found by someone in the store who called police around 8:30 a.m. to report what they had found.

The store was evacuated as first responders searched the store.

No bomb was found inside the store, and witnesses later told police that they had seen the bomb threat note in the bathroom at least two days prior.

First responders cleared the scene shortly before 9:30 a.m.
