According to Fairfield police, Kelly Wright of Patrick Drive, was reported missing by his brother at about 5 p.m. Sunday. Wright was last seen when he left his Fairfield home at about 11 a.m. Jan. 10 to look at a boat in Montauk, N.Y., by way of the ferry, police said.

Wright called his wife at about 3:15 p.m. Jan. 10 to say he was on his way back from Montauk, again taking the ferry, and that he might stop at a casino before returning home, police said. That was the last known contact anyone had with Wright, police said.

Both Wright’s brother and wife attempted to contact him again, however, his phone had either died or was turned off, with all calls going straight to voicemail, police said. Officers were told by Wright’s family that he had a history of heart and liver disease, and that it was unusual for him not to call and check in, police said.

When Fairfield police were notified he was missing, officers were able to track his location through his vehicle's OnStar system, which lead officers to the discover of Wright in his car in a parking lot near a North Frontage Road hotel, authorities said.

A New London Police officer found Wright, at about 7:27 p.m. Jan. 11, dead and slumped behind his steering wheel, with no signs of foul play, police said. They said he had likely died much earlier, according to Fairfield Police.
