One Killed, Two Injured In Shooting In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A man died and two others were injured — one of them critically — in a shooting Thursday evening, Bridgeport police said Friday morning.

This brings the total number of homicides in Bridgeport this year to 16, police said.

At 6:45 p.m. Thursday, police officers responded to calls regarding shots fired in the area of Washington Avenue and Center Street. 

Upon arrival, officers found two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a third with one gunshot wound, police said. 

The first victim, 22-year-old Miguel Arguelles of Hanover Street, suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and shoulder, police said. Arguelles was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance. At the hospital, he was pronounced dead, and the incident was confirmed as a homicide, police said. 

The second victim, a 22-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach, police said. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance and was in critical condition Friday morning, police said. 

A third victim, a 21-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by a private vehicle, police said. His condition was unknown Friday morning.

Police officers and detectives are actively investigating several leads.
