Pedestrian, Cyclist Hit By Cars In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries after being hit Tuesday by cars in separate incidents in Fairfield.

The first case involved a pedestrian walking near the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club on Center Street. A woman was walking near the club at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was struck by a car coming out of a driveway, police said. The woman was taken to Bridgeport Hospital after complaining of back pain. No charges were filed against the driver, according to police reports.

The second collision was between a bicycle and a car on the Post Road on Tuesday. The bicyclist attempted to cross the road from Granville Street when he was hit by a car traveling on the Post Road, police said. Witnesses told police that they did not see the incident, but reported that it did not seem like the car was speeding, according to police reports.

The bicyclist was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment for a minor head wound. He was also issued an infraction for failure to yield the right of way, according to the police report.
