The couple noticed the pieces were missing and reported it around 2 p.m. Sunday, police said. The set includes 12 place settings, three serving spoons, a cake knife and a pie server, which were wrapped in a blue Tiffany cloth bag in a mahogany box.

The victims told police a cleaning service is in the home every Thursday and other service professionals have been through since the set was last used late last year.

Around noon on Sunday, a woman walking on nearby Banks North Road noticed eight silver forks lying by the side of the road. Police had not determined if they belonged to the missing set Monday.
