David Guerra, 35, of Glen Road, was driving eastbound on Walls Drive around midnight when he veered off the northside shoulder of the road, hitting the trees and coming to rest on the driver’s side, police said.

A passenger in the car was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Guerra failed field sobriety tests and, when officers handcuffed him, they found a Glock 42 .380 automatic pistol on his person, police said.

Guerra, who has a carry permit, was charged with operating under the influence, failure to drive right and carrying a firearm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said.

He was released on $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 24.
