Police: Bathroom Fight In Bridgeport Diner Ends With Man Stabbed In Face

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A man was stabbed in the face during a fight in the bathroom of a Bridgeport diner early Sunday morning, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police told the Connecticut Post that 39-year-old Robert Garcia of Pocono Summit, Pa., was involved in a fight with the 29-year-old victim at the Barnum Avenue diner. Garcia pulled out a folding knife and stabbed the other man in the face, according to the Connecticut Post.

Garcia, who had blood on his hands, was leaving as officers arrived and ignored orders, the Post said. As more police arrived, he was taken into custody, the Connecticut Post reported. The knife was located in the bathroom and the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was in stable condition, according to the Connecticut Post.

Garcia was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of peace, and held on $150,000 bond, the Connecticut Post reported.
