FAIRFIELD, Conn. ? Two neighboring Fairfield homes were burglarized sometime last week. Police said they believe the suspects entered the area from Interstate 95, which runs behind both properties.
The burglaries occurred on Henderson Road sometime over the past week. One resident called police Monday to report that his back shed had been entered at some time between July 12 and July 16. The suspects entered through a section of damaged plywood, causing about $75 worth of damage to the shed. A $200 power washer, a $50 sander and a $370 power mower were reported missing.
When police responded to the first call, a neighboring home found a similar incident. A detached garage was entered through a broken window, causing $50 in damage to the structure. An electric yard trimmer and a 40-foot extension cord were taken from inside.
Investigators believe the burglars may have snuck onto the properties from Interstate 95 in all incidents. The highway lies directly behind the two homes and a path was found leading from the side of the highway to the back yards.
Anyone with information on the case should contact the Fairfield Police at 203-254-4800.
