FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Whole Foods contacted the Fairfield police after determining that an employee had been stealing cases of beer for the past several months, police said.
According to the police report, Kevin Paterson, 23, of Derby, had been taking two cases of beer per week for several months.
Loss prevention had video surveillance of Paterson taking the cases from the beer cooler and putting it behind the store outside, the police report said. During his breaks, Paterson went to the back of the store, retrieved the beer and put it in the trunk of his car, police said.
The store estimated that the total loss was about $1,200, police said.
A warrant for Paterson's arrest was issued, and he was being charged with fourth-degree larceny.
