Police: Fairfield Man Arrested With Date Rape Drug, Crystal Meth

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield man was arrested on drug charges after authorities intercepted a package containing a large amount of GHB, a “date rape drug,” sent to him from Hong Kong, police said.

Benny Palmieri, 28, of Millspaugh Drive, was arrested March 16. 

Fairfield police executed a search warrant on his home and discovered a large amount of GHB and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, police said.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Palmieri was held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5, police said.
