FAIRFIELD, Conn. - A Fairfield man who attempted to use his brother's identity to hide the fact that his license was suspended was arrested on charges of driving under the influence early Friday, police said.

A Fairfield officer stopped Peter Moore, 50, of Fairfield, shortly before 1 a.m. by the Stop &Shop on Kings Highway Cutoff because he was driving a car with a headlight out, police said.

The officer then determined that the license plate on the car had been stolen and was on the wrong car, police said.

The officer reported that Moore attempted to use his brother's name to hide that his license had been suspended, police said.

During the traffic stop, the officer had Moore complete the three standard field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Moore was charged with driving under the influence, improper number of headlights, driving an unregistered car, theft of a license plate, no insurance, driving without a license, criminal impersonation and interfering with an officer. He was released on $100 cash bond and issued a court date of July 21.
