Police: Kids Cause Scare In Fairfield With Lego 'Rifle'

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two preteens who built a “rifle” using Lego blocks this week led to a scare in which law enforcement officers shut down part of North Benson Road, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

A group of skateboarders called the Fairfield Police Department about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, telling authorities that someone had brandished a rifle from the window of a Dill Road residence, the Fairfield Citizen reported.

Though officials were initially concerned about the possibility of a “standoff,” authorities soon learned that the culprits were 11 and 12 years old and had fashioned the “rifle” from Legos, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
