Around 9:15 p.m., two different Candlewood Road residents called police to say they had heard shots fired, with one saying she saw a “red burst” coming from the passenger side of a car that fled the scene, police said.

Officers found shell casings in the road outside two homes and nine bullet holes on the front facade and railing of one home, police said.

One of the bullet holes to the right of the front door penetrated the house, police said.

The suspect vehicle could not be found. Two adults and a 7-year-old were in the home at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured in the incident.
