FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Saturday evening fight over an Uber car left one Fairfield University student bloodied and three other young men arrested, police said.
Officers arriving on the scene at 5:48 p.m. found the shirtless 22-year-old victim sitting by the side of Fairfield Beach Road with a cut above his right eyebrow and blood on his chest and stomach, police said.
The victim and his friend, Daniel Perpalaj, 22, of Seymour Avenue, Bronx, N.Y., had gotten into the Uber car, when two brothers, 21-year-old Michael Minicozzi and 24-year-old Alexander Minicozzi, both of Oak Point Drive, Bayville, N.Y., started arguing that it was their Uber car, police said.
Perpalaj got out of the car and struck the younger Minicozzi and a physical fight ensued. The victim got out of the car to break it up and ended up getting punched, police said.
Several witnesses saw the incident and police reviewed cellphone footage at the scene.
Perpalaj and Michael Minicozzi are also Fairfield U. students. It appeared Alexander Minicozzi was visiting his brother, police said.
Both Minicozzis and Perpalaj were arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace, police said.
They were all released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 3.
