Pre-Built House On Truck Hits Bridge In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A truck hauling a prebuilt home ran into a railroad bridge in Fairfield on Wednesday, Dec. 18, causing the house to hit the bridge and fall off the truck, according to a report from the Fairfield Sun

Two state troopers and an oversize truck were escorting the truck when they got off the wrong exit and tried to go back to the highway, according to the report.

"The lead trooper realized the truck was not going to fit under the bridge and radioed for the rear trooper to attempt to stop the truck," according to the Fairfield Sun report. "The police were unable to communicate the information in time."
