Radiators Taken From Empty Fairfield Homes

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two break-ins were reported in the last two days at vacant homes in the Stratfield section of Fairfield.

In both cases, the suspects made off with the home's radiators, causing thousands of dollars in damage at each location.

The first burglary occurred Wednesday afternoon on Stratfield Road at a house that reportedly was vacant for six months. A person at the home that morning told police while the house was empty between 12:30-2:30 p.m., it was entered. Seven radiators, each valued at $1,000, were stolen.

A second similar incident was reported Thursday afternoon on Euclid Avenue. The house involved in that case also was vacant and for sale. The real estate agent handling the house told police nine radiators were discovered missing from the home, each valued at $800. Police are unsure when that theft occurred.

Fairfield police still are investigating the two thefts. Anyone with information should contact the police at 203-254-4800.
