Harry Metz, 54, was arrested in August and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Police said the girl was in the parking lot at Jennings Beach after the fireworks on July 2 and taking a picture of herself when Metz jumped into the photo and then touched her.

The Connecticut Post reported that Metz was granted a two-year suspended sentence followed by two years probation. He has also been ordered to undergo alcohol treatment and keep away from the girl, the Connecticut Post reported.

Metz was arrested after police released a photo from the incident that was spread around the internet. Tips from the public led investigators to Metz, police said.

Metz has been accused of similar behavior in the past, including at the Ridgefield Playhouse and just minutes before the incident with the 14-year-old.
