Rollover Accident On Merritt Sends One To Hospital

WESTPORT, Conn. – The driver of an SUV that rolled over on the Merritt Parkway between Fairfield and Westport on Friday morning was taken to the hospital, Assistant Westport Fire Chief Larry Conklin reported.

The accident occurred between exits 44 and 42 southbound at approximately 9:19 a.m. The driver was stuck in the SUV and had to be extricated by firefighters, Conklin said in a news release.

Both Westport and Fairfield firefighters responded to the accident, which tied up traffic for about an hour.
