Loang Manpign, 24, of the Bronx was arrested at Norwalk Court on Tuesday by Westport Police Sergeant Sereniti Dobson and charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. He was held on a $100,000 cash only bond and scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Manpign is the second person arrested in the case, after police arrested 24-year-old Alpha Jalloh on Monday and charged him with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, and third-degree larceny.

According to police, on July 2 Jalloh entered the TD Bank on Post Road East and handed a note to a bank employee, telling him that a robbery was taking place and that he had a gun. He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

After learning that a Darien bank had been robbed by a suspect matching the same description a few weeks earlier, Westport detectives worked together with Darien detectives and determined that they were committed by the same person, police said. They identified the suspect as Jalloh, and believed he was working with another man in a string of robberies that also hit Pawtucket, RI and Waterbury.

On July 27, the NYPD Fugitive Task Force stopped a Lincoln MKZ driven by Jalloh and took him into custody. Police spoke with Jalloh's passenger in the car, later identified as Manpign, and Manpign admitted that he had driven Jalloh to Westport with the intention that Jalloh would rob the bank and Manpign would drive him back, according to police.

Manpign was eventually extradited to Waterbury before being arrested by Westport Police.
