Shelton Man Suffers Burns After Fire Breaks Out In Garage

SHELTON, Conn. -- A Shelton man was injured during a garage fire on Edgewood Avenue Thursday night, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel.

Fire officials told the Valley Independent Sentinel that the fire broke out at around 8:45 p.m. at a detached garage at a home on Edgewood Avenue. First responders arrived and found the Shelton man, who was in his 20s and lived at the address, the Valley Independent Sentinel reported.

The man was suffering burns, and was treated by firefighters at the scene before he was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel. The man is a landscaper, and there were gas cans in the garage at the time of the fire, the Valley Independent Sentinel reported.

Echo Hose Co. 1 and Pine Rock Park Co. 4 responded to the scene with about 35 firefighters, and were able to knock down the blaze and extinguish it in about 15 minutes, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
