Southport Man Charged With Strangulation In Westport Argument

WESTPORT, Conn. — A routine Aug. 30 traffic stop led to the arrest of a Southport man on charges of choking a victim during an argument in July, Westport police said.

On July 23, at about 2:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Roseville Road address on a report of a disturbance, police said.

Police said Christopher Lynch, 26, of Mill Hill Road, Fairfield, had an argument with a victim and had allegedly choked the other person.

A warrant was issued, and he was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct after the officer recognized him at the motor vehicle stop, police said.

He was held on $25,000 bond and appeared in court on Aug. 31, police said.
