When officers arrived at The Little Pub shortly after midnight, they found Justin Salerno, 25, of Knickerbocker Avenue, and a women in a Jeep behind the Black Rock Turnpike restaurant, police said.

They told officers they worked at the restaurant and were just locking up and had a problem with the alarm system, police said.

But an officer noticed a baggie containing a leafy substance in Salerno’s lap and called in a K-9 unit, police said. The dog alerted the officers to the presence of drugs, and a search revealed marijuana, a digital scale, a pipe and cash, police said.

Salerno was charged with use and possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal manufacture, distribution and sale and possession of a controlled substance or less than four ounces of marijuana, police said.

He was released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 10, police said.

The woman was not charged.
