Anthony Lee Parowski, 30, pleaded guilty before a judge in Bridgeport on Tuesday to one count of distribution of heroin, according to Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

According to court documents, the DEA's Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Milford Police Department received information in March that Parowski was selling heroin. Investigators conducted two controlled purchases of heroin from Parowski in April, the second of which occurred in a Milford motel room that he was renting, Daly said.

On April 20, investigators approached Parowski as he was leaving the motel carrying a cardboard box, which he dropped and ran, Daly said. He could be seen discarding items as he ran, and was apprehended after a short chase, according to Daly.

As police searched Parowski, the box and the surrounding area, they found 190 dose bags of heroin, as well as 66 additional grams of heroin, and items used to process and package heroin for street sale. A search of his Stratford home revealed $32,210 in cash, Daly said.

Parowski has been detained since his federal arrest on April 25. He faces a maximum term of 20 years in prison. A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
