Suspect Arrested In Knifepoint Sex Assault, Robbery Near Downtown Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A suspect in the knifepoint sexual assault and robbery of a woman walking home from the Fairfield train station late Saturday was tracked down from footprints in the snow, police told the Connecticut Post.

The woman was attacked in the area of 600 Reef Road, about seven blocks off the Post Road, at about 10:20 p.m.,the Post said. 

The suspect, who was not identified by police due to the "sensitivity of the case,’’ has an extensive criminal history, the Post said. Police did not detail the exact charges against the suspect.
