FAIRFIELD, Conn – A Bridgeport man was charged Friday with stealing approximately $4,000 from a Fairfield home last fall, according to police reports.
A Park Drive resident reported a burglary in November, in which assorted jewelry with an estimated value of $4,000 was stolen from the home. Investigators later found the items at a pawn shop in Bridgeport, police said.
Francisco Garcia, 32, of Bridgeport was in the pawn shop’s records as the man who sold the jewelry, according to police reports. Garcia had been in police custody awaiting trial relating to two burglaries in the same area in October and November, according to state court records.
Garcia had been known to knock on doors in the area asking to do odd jobs, police said. Investigators believe he burglarized homes that he found unoccupied, according to police reports.
Garcia was charged with third-degree larceny and third-degree burglary, both felonies. He was arraigned at Bridgeport Superior Court Friday.
