Suspect Charged In Fairfield Burglaries

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Shelton man has been charged in a pair of burglary attempts that occurred in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield in October, according to police reports. The suspect also faces charges in similar cases in Monroe and Westport.

Residents on Redding Road and Stella Lane reported break-in attempts on the morning of Oct. 15. In both cases the homeowners found screen doors opened and broken windows in their homes, according to the police reports. The Redding Road resident did not report any items missing. Assorted jewelry was reported stolen from the Stella Lane home.

The break-ins occurred on the same morning as a similar case on Struges Highway in Westport. At that scene witnesses saw a grey pick-up truck leaving the scene and it was also seen at burglaries earlier in the month in Monroe, police say. Fairfield and Monroe Police traced the vehicle to Connor Buckley, 20, of Shelton.

Buckley was arrested by Monroe Police in October and charged with burglary and larceny, according to state judicial records. Fairfield Police filed charges against him on Nov. 30. In the Fairfield incidents he was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, attempted burglary, and three counts of conspiracy. He was held in lieu of a combined $7,500 bond and was arraigned Friday.
