Suspect Charged With Third Fairfield Theft

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Another theft charge has been filed against a suspect in a string of incidents in Fairfield earlier this year. Viviana Nieves, 25, of Bridgeport has now been accused of taking guitars and other electronic equipment from a Fairfield garage.

The theft was first reported on Cranston Street in March. The homeowner told police that guitars, computers and electronic equipment were missing from the home’s garage. It appeared that the suspect entered the space through an unlocked sliding door.

Police believed the incident might be linked to the thefts of golf clubs from Round Hill Road and Matilda Place around the same time. Investigators tracked the stolen clubs to a pawn shop in Milford, where Nieves had sold them, according to police reports. She was charged with those thefts in April.

A search of Nieves’ home turned up the guitars and other items stolen from the Cranston Street garage, police say. She was charged with fourth-degree larceny for that incident while appearing in court for other charges Thursday. Her bond was set at $3,000.
