In February, a Stillson Road resident told police that a sliding glass door on her home was shattered by a 20-pound dumbbell, according to police reports. A small box containing assorted jewelry was reported missing from the home, police say.

A silver sedan was spotted in the area of the Stillson Road burglary and a similar case around the same time, and a witness gave police a license plate number from the car, according to the police report. The registered owner told police that Richie Rios, 30, of Bridgeport was driving the car at the time of the Fairfield burglaries, police say.

West Haven Police arrested Rios after learning of a warrant issued by Fairfield Police during an encounter with him Saturday. He was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. He was held on $50,000 bond and is due in court May 29.
