FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield police were called to the Kohl’s store Thursday after loss prevention agents detained a 17-year-old girl who reportedly took $70 in merchandise.
According to the report, the teen tried to conceal the item before walking past all the registers with out paying. She was with a friend who police say had not tried to steal anything.
The friend was released at the scene into the custody of her family. The teen who was charged was brought to a friend's house where she was picked up and released into her father's custody.
The teen was released on a written promise to appear and was given a court date of Aug. 22.
