Four Fairfield men were driving a pickup truck in a wooded area near the railroad tracks in Southport when they struck a tree, according to police reports. The driver was able to get out and call 911, but he suffered lacerations to his face and arms and bruises on his head and neck, police say.

Two of the vehicle’s passengers also received cuts during the collision, according to the report. All three were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Police determined that the truck was being driven on private property and did not appear to be trespassing, police say. No charges have been filed in the case as of Monday morning, according to police reports.
