Around 1:30 a.m. police pulled over a red Mercedes that turned south from Chambers Street to Commerce Drive without using a turn signal, police said.

The driver, Matthew Luna, 23, of Hull Street, told police he had a small amount of marijuana in his pants pocket, police said. Looking around the car, officers found a clear bag containing five smaller bags filled with a total of 1.3 ounces of marijuana, police said.

Luna, who passed field sobriety tests, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, police said. He was released on a promise to appear in court on June 20.
