Officers were dispatched to a medical facility in Westport on April 1, 2016, on a report of an assault. The employee told police that Akieme Murdock, 26, of Trumbull had punched him six times in the face with a closed fist, resulting in a minor injury, according to police.

A warrant for Murdock's arrest was issued, and on Oct. 21, Westport officers were contacted by the Naugatuck Police Department, who had Murdock in custody.

Officers traveled to Naugatuck and took Murdock into custody. They transported him back to Westport, where he was charged with third-degree assault.

He was released on $7,500 bond and will appear in court on Oct. 31.
