During November, Trumbull Police Officers were allowed to grow beards or goatees to raise money in an effort to support the Counseling Center. They made a donation in the amount of $1,000.

Mary Sherlach was the school psychologist at Sandy Hook Elementary School. She was killed along with the school principal, four other educators and 20 first-graders on Dec. 14, 2012, in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The counseling center provides counseling for Trumbull residents and their families. It serves about 200 families per year — about 600 individuals.
