Two Arrested After Fairfield Police K9 Sniffs Out Drugs In Car

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Two Bridgeport men were arrested on drug charges Thursday after a routine afternoon traffic stop, police said.

Around 1:30 p.m., Fairfield officers stopped a car for misuse of a plate on Commerce Drive near Coolidge Street.

During the stop K-9 Jagger alerted to the odor of narcotics on the driver door seam, prompting a search, police said.

Officers seized marijuana and ecstasy from the driver, Freddie Jackson, 31, of Washington Avenue, and a small amount of marijuana from the passenger, Vincent Ambrose, 30, of Iranistan Avenue, police said.

Jackson was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana and several motor vehicle charges, police said.

Ambrose was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

Both men were released at the scene.
