Two Charged In $1,800 Fairfield Shoplifting Case

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two Bridgeport women were charged with attempting to steal approximately $1,800 worth of items from a Fairfield store Wednesday, according to police reports.

Store security at Kohl’s on Tunxis Hill Road told police a woman walked out of the store without paying for a cart full of items Wednesday, police said. The items in the cart were worth a total of $1,750, according to the police report. Severia Douglas, 30, of Bridgeport, was charged with fourth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor, and held on a $500 bond.

A second suspect was with the woman pushing the cart, police said. Officers found she had hidden $50 worth of clothing that had been stolen from the store, according to police reports. Capresha Still, 29, of Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police also found that Still had outstanding arrest warrants from Norwalk and Bridgeport for similar cases, according to the arrest report. She was released on a promise to appear in court and turned over to Norwalk police.
