FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Two homeless people were charged with shoplifting Wednesday afternoon after they attempted to steal $250 worth of merchandise from the Kohl's Department Store, Fairfield police said.
According to the report Jaci Goeller, 29, went into the store and put three watches, two phone cases, a computer keyboard and several phone chargers into her purse before walking out of the store.
Store loss prevention told police that Goeller went past them and into the passenger side of a black Nissan Pathfinder driven by a white male and sped off.
Offices stopped the car on Kings Highway East and found in the car a purse with the stolen items, police said.
The driver Brandon Ryan, 30, and Goeller were taken into custody. Each was charged with sixth-degree larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. Each was held on $100 bond and given a court date of Oct. 8.
