Two Sought In Fairfield Cell Phone Thefts

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Three cell phones were stolen near Fairfield Warde High School last week, in one case by a young man who said he had a knife, police report.  

In the first incident, two young men playing on the school's outdoor basketball courts Wednesday evening told police they left an iPhone 4 and HTC Resound in bags near the court. They said the phones, valued at $400 each, were missing when the two finished their game. Two suspects, a black male and a Hispanic male, were seen in the area before leaving suddenly and heading toward Bridgeport, according to police reports.

A Hispanic male who met the description of the earlier suspect was said to be responsible for the second incident Friday about 6 p.m. The teenage victim told police the man claimed to have a knife, but did not show one, before demanding a cell phone. The suspect was described as approximately 20 years old and wearing dark clothing.
