Unlocked Cars Lead To Multiple Thefts in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield police reported a stolen car and several thefts from unlocked parked cars from Friday into Saturday, mostly in the Southport section of town.

Around 8:15 a.m. Saturday, a Warner Hill Road man reported his 2015 BMW, which was left unlocked with the keys and a wallet in the cup holder, was missing from his driveway, police said.

A BMW tracking service located the car on Water Street in Waterbury and it was returned, police said. The wallet was found on the ground down the street from the home.

Another Warner Hill Road resident reported an unlocked Dodge Durango in the driveway had been rummaged through and two cell phones, a wallet and purse and some credit cards were missing, police said.

A third Warner Hill Road resident reported a white Apple charger worth $50 and a $100 new television mount were missing from her unlocked Range Rover, police said.

A Bridget Lane resident reported the ignition key, a red Vera Bradley bag, a wallet, gift cards and two pair of Apple earbuds were taken from an unlocked Honda Accord between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, police said.

A gold Apple iPhone 6 was missing from an unlocked 2017 BMW parked in a driveway on Narrow Street, police said.

An unlocked 2000 Mercedes on Gorham Road was rummaged through during the same night, police said.

A Mill Hill Road resident reported a $25 charger and a $150 GPS missing from a 2012 Chevy left unlocked in the driveway, police said.
