The robbery occurred at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday at the TD?Bank branch at 1111 Post Road E., police said. The suspects were arrested after a search -- one later Wednesday afternoon and the other after midnight, police said.

Two suspects entered the bank, with one displaying a black handgun and demanding money, police said. After receiving an undetermined amount of money from the teller, the suspects fled in a vehicle southbound on Morningside Drive, police said.

The car was described as a small black hatchback with dark tinted windows, possibly a Nissan Versa or Volkswagen. Witnesses said the license plate was 213TZV, but it does not match the vehicle, police said.

The suspects were described as black males, each wearing a black shirt, black pants and a ski mask.

While officers were checking the surrounding areas for the vehicle, a Westport Police Detective observed a person matching the description of a suspect walking in the area of Greens Farms Road and Westway Road. As the detective approached, the suspect attempted to conceal himself in the wood line, police said. The detective ordered the suspect out at gunpoint, and he was subsequently placed into custody after evidence from TD bank was discovered in his possession, police said.

The suspect was transported to Norwalk Hospital at his request for a medical issue, police said. He was subsequently discharged and transported to the Westport Police Department for processing.

The scene was processed by the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau.

The suspect was identified as Lancelot Andrew Supersad, 19, of Bridgeport. He was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, third-degree larceny, and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. He was held on $100,000 bond and will be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on July 3.

The second suspect was arrest at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday by Westport police detectives, working with Stratford police detectives and the FBI, police said in a statement. Police did not release details of where and how he was arrested.

Anthony Santiago, 20, of Bridgeport, was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. Santiago was held on a $100,000 bond and will be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on July 3.
