The incident happened just after 5 p.m. when Tyler Keiser allegedly cut off another driver on Post Road East, prompting the other driver to flash his high beams at Keiser, the police report said.
As the driver of the other car approached the intersection at Bulkley Avenue South, Keiser allegedly jumped out of his car and pointed a black handgun at the other driver, the report said. Keiser then continued driving east on the Post Road toward Fairfield, the driver told police.
The driver provided police with Keiser’s license plate number, along with a description of the car and Keiser, police said. This information was given to Fairfield police, who later spotted Keiser on Pemburn Drive, the report said.
Keiser was held by Fairfield police until Westport officers arrived. A black Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol was found on Keiser and taken without incident, police said. The pistol was registered to Keiser and he has a permit to carry it, police said.
Keiser was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace, all misdemeanors. The gun was seized for evidence, police said.
Keiser was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear March 8 at Norwalk Superior Court.
