Jessie Siddell, 39, of Wildwood Street, was charged with criminal attempt at third-degree larceny, police said.

On Aug. 25, officers were sent to Lux, Bond and Green on a report a woman was opening a credit line with false identification.

When officers arrived around 1 p.m., the woman, later identified as Siddell, had left in a gray car with Florida plates, police said.

The manager of the Main Street business, told officers Siddell said she was looking for a graduation present and selected the diamond bracelet, police said.

She produced a credit approval application, but the manager said he needed identification. Siddell showed him a Citibank Visa card and a Minnesota license bearing the name Anna M. Selmecki, police said.

The manager noticed the cards appeared fraudulent and the woman left the store.

Westport police supplied surveillance video of the incident to all Connecticut police departments. In August, Glastonbury and Torrington officers contacted Westport police and identified Siddell.

Westport detectives served Siddell on an arrest warrant Thursday at Norwalk Superior Court. She was arraigned Thursday.
