FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A suspect in three Westport burglaries has also been charged with burglarizing a Fairfield home. Tyrone Doby, 47, of Bridgeport was charged by Fairfield Police Friday.
The burglary in Fairfield occurred on Old Barn Road on May 4, police said. The homeowner told police that a man came in through the back door sometime early that morning and that electronics and cash were missing from inside the house, police said. The resident’s 2001 BMW was also stolen from the driveway and was later recovered in Bridgeport a week later, with no suspects, according to police.
Doby was charged with a string of burglaries in the Greens Farms section of Westport last month. The three Westport cases also occurred while the residents were inside and asleep, and happened during the same week as the Old Barn Road burglary, police said.
Westport Police arrested Doby in early June and Fairfield Police said they tied him to the May 4 incident. He was arrested by Fairfield Police in court Friday while appearing for the previous cases. He was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree larceny, both felonies, and held on a $100,000 bond.
