Gina Garamella, 26, Moose Hill Road, was unconscious and not breathing when the first officer responded to the Nov. 3 accident, police said. EMTs administered Narcan spray, which is used in opiate overdoses, and she began breathing again, police said.

Garamella was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, and Fairfield police obtained a warrant for her medical records and blood work. Independent testing showed her samples tested positive for codeine, morphine and oxycodone, police said.

An investigation showed Garamella's car rolled 81 feet before hitting the guardrail, police said.

Garamella was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. She turned herself in and posted $3,500 bond.

She is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 16.
