According to police, Melissa Conlogue stole a credit card out of a motor vehicle in Stratford on July 6 and attempted to use it to purchase an iPad from a Gamestop on Black Rock Turnpike, police.
When Conlogue handed the cashier the credit card to complete the transaction, she was told the store would not accept the form of payment without a second form of identification to confirm the name on the card, police said.
Unable to do so, according to police, Conlogue fled the store before officers arrived.
Conlogue has been charged with criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, third-degree identity theft and criminal impersonation. She was released on $5,000 bond.
