Woman Charged With Forging Prescriptions In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Westport woman was charged with using her job at a Fairfield doctor’s office to write fake prescriptions, according to police reports.

Palma D’Alessio, 52, of Stone Drive in Westport, is accused of writing nine unauthorized prescriptions for herself for a total of 1,200 pills of the painkiller hydrocone. The alleged forgeries were uncovered by an internal auditing system at the doctor’s practice, according to police reports.

D’Alessio was fired in October when the prescriptions were discovered, police say. Fairfield Police filed a warrant for her arrest this week, and she turned herself in at police headquarters after learning of the warrant, according to the arrest report.

D’Alessio was charged with nine counts of illegally obtaining prescription medications, a misdemeanor. She was released on a promise to appear in court, and her court date was scheduled for Jan. 15.
